Today started with an amazing sunrise. Our hotel is perched up on the side of a mountain with amazing views over the Beagle Channel and we have a huge picture window that looks out over the city and mountain
This morning's activity was a Beach Clean - in our intention to leave the place better than we found it. It was amazing how many small straws and other small bits of plastic debris there were amongst the stones - not to mention the larger bits of rubbish left around what's obviously a local barbecue and picnic spot.
After the beach clean I had a bit of time to head back up to the peat bog near the hotel to see what it looked like in the amazing sunshine - answer stunning! The wild horses were also out enjoying it and I was finally able to capture a shot of the bird of prey that I'd seen a couple of times up there - what I think is a chimango caracara
After lunch we continued the lectures with more from David and Rob - and then a safety briefing from "Jumper" - the expedition safety officer. It seemed to rather focus on what happens if you end up in the water but with a strong message of this is not the desirable outcome...
Shortly afterwards we had our first glimpse of the Ocean Victory as she returned to Ushuaia from the Falkland Islands. Another covid test done and we're now packing our stuff up to leave the hotel tomorrow morning and head to the boat (one more covid test to go!!).
